I am a fully trained EMDR Psychologist. I have used it with people experiencing problems due to childhood abuse, depression, PTSD, and a number of different types of Anxiety Disorders.
EMDR was initially developed to help people who experienced trauma and/or PTSD. It is widely recognised as a first line of treatment for trauma. Over the years and after further applications and research, it is now being used to also help people experiencing difficulties like phobias, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, OCD and Trauma-Baased Personality issues.
However, please note that like all Psychological Therapies it is not necessarily appropriate for all people and conditions, even when people experience very similar problems. Your problems would need to be assessed by an experienced clinician and reach a decision together as to whether this could be the right treatment for you.
